Being together alone...

Now that Dharamsala is less full of people and I have no expectations at all, I still encounter the same lonely atmosphere, but I like it much better than the first time. I think this place is about people sharing their loneliness, it’s about the paradox of being together alone. And now that I’m back for a few days I realise, that this is my nature. I’m sitting in a café surrounded by other westerners, everyone alone checking in their own iPad, notebook etc. their connection back home. And I wonder: aren’t we all kind of facing a search for someone to share our loneliness? Independent souls, travelling free through the world, hoping to find a free spirit to be together without feeling enclosed?
